1400 Steps, 15 Miles of Hikes, Crystal Blue Waters, and Eco Tenting In Style With My Best Friend....St. John!

ST JOHN, United States Virgin Islands
May 5-12, 2010

WOW!!!!!!!!!

What other word could describe only the best vacation we have ever been on!?! May 5-12, 2010 St.Thomas 2 days, St. John 5 days! Hands down one of the most beautiful places that we have ever been!
We started out flying into St. Thomas and staying one night at the Best Western Emerald Beach Resort, very nice! I would totally get off the plane and go straight to the ferry to St. John next go around, bypass St. Thomas; while its still beautiful the strive to be like St. John isn't happening!
The ferry ride over 45 minutes and you get to see St. Thomas and how big it is! We rented a Jeep once we got to St. John, were told 4WD was a must!
The clearest water we've ever seen, hiking, 4 wheel driving, diving, eco tenting with style (luxery camping) at its finest! Concordia Eco Resort is the place we stayed which are wood framed "tents" with canvas sides that zip down like a tent. BY FAR I would live in this structure! Self sustainable, solar showers were always hot, compostable toliet system was never stinky, 12 volt fridge always cold, 2 burner propane stove works like magic, constant breeze, king size bed w/REAL matresses....and the best thing about it, the views were breathtaking!

There are two cities on St. John, free roaming goats, chickens, donkeys, mongooses, cats, iguanas. The ferry came into the largest city Cruz Bay we were most near Coral Bay on the other side of the island. Roads curvey with  hairpin turns straight up and straight down...Never a dull moment, but every image is picture perfect!

This was DAY 1....Much more fun was to be had! More to come! Stay tuned. Trying to do this blog in the midst of starting clinical back as well as school!!!
